Absent Comrade

Thank you Rusty, for being a friend to Mike during this time of need and also for keeping us in the loop with what was happening in Mike's life. I will miss reading his posts here on the forums, but now I know that Mike is no longer suffering with his cancer and now he is up there with the Great Lord our God and His Son, Our Savior.

Mike adored Alison and that song in particular and we both agreed that she and Diana Krall were "complete packages".

Mike was also a singer with a deep, velvety bass voice that would rattle your fillings. (there are several members than can attest to this) He loved choral arrangements and a capella groups.

I have six saved voicemails from him. I am never going to delete them.

I wish I had saved all our PMs. It would make a great bathroom book.

I've always enjoyed reading Mike's posts, and admit to being a little flattered whenever he would "like" one of mine. MrsB and I send our condolences to his family with the hope that some degree of comfort will come from knowing how much he meant to all of us on this forum.

It's OK, Mike. You go on ahead. We'll catch up.

I rejoice for Mike that he will be forever in the presence of God our Father, and that all of the trials and tribulations of his life here have come to a merciful and blessed end.

I rejoice that Mike will never again know pain, nor sorrow, nor loss, nor despondency, nor disappointment, nor regret.

I rejoice that Mike carries with him the knowledge of a life well lived, the joy of family, the love of so many of his brothers and sisters, and the care exhibited by special friends throughout his life and in its last days.

I rejoice that a fine, funny, loving, caring, talented, exceptional man made his mark on this world, and that we were there to share parts of it with him.

I rejoice in answered prayers so fervently prayed by so many for a friend.

I rejoice that our God is love and mercy, and that He prepares a place for us in which we will live forever.

God speed you on to the life ahead, Mike Adkins. You brought joy to those around you, and you will never be forgotten.

Praise God from Whom all blessings do well and truly flow! :)
