Awful kitchen table butchery! No, I am NOT the person who did this to this pistol! Some previous owner needs to have all his tools taken away from him. For life!
Yes, I got this pistol for hundreds of dollars less, due to the ugly mutilations to the sights. I also wonder: aren't HK barrels blued? This barrel looks like it was polished. Maybe I'm wrong there.
Luckily, the pistol functions perfectly. Despite the sights, they still are aligned properly and I can hit the target spot on.

Well, haven't you heard the expression

"Crome won't get you home" ?

I'd rather have a beater that shoots well,
than a nicely polished gun that's to nice to use and just sits on a shelf. :D

Like your gun, a few strokes with a file and you won't notice it.

HK uses a proprietary finish much like Glock used too, HK calls there's "Hostile Eviroment" and the barrel was so coated. Since the finish was baked in at Oberndorf it should still be there.
Contact HK, guy you want to talk too is Sam Bass, send him tge pics and he might be able to get your "Bubbafied" USP back to its former glory. Dale

Eh thats not bad. Just some gnarled sights. Not bad! HK is an HK. I have the same but in 9

Meh, I've fixed worse (but not by much).
Take the sight off, file the worse of it down, blast with 80 grit, repark, and refinish with KG GunKote.

I have a USP .45. I did not like the plain front sight and I put a red fiber optic sight on mine that I bought from Dawson Precision. They supply an aluminum punch to use to install the sight. I did have to file a little off of the sight to make it fit in the dovetail. The secret is to make many light taps on the punch. If there is some aluminum left on the sight after installation, cold blue will take it off.

The Dawson web site has a video to show how to install their sights.

My father would have one of two comments:

1. "It has character...."

2." That hurts me and I'm way over here"

D*** fine pistols though, carried one in .45 ACP while working K-9...abused it terribly and it worked EVERY time
