Accuracy

Went to the range today to chronograph and test loads in my IHMSA revolver. Took my 15-22 along.

15-22 is the base model threaded barrel gun. Yankee Hill 1/2" riser, B-Square Tall Sport Series Utility Rings with an old Redfield 1-4X scope and a muzzle brake Advanced Armament Co (AAC) Single Chamber Muzzle Brake Non-Suppressor replacing the original flash hider. Stock forend with cap in place. Geissele Super Dynamic Three Gun Trigger.

The gun is for Ruger Rimfire Challenge and usually wears a C-more on the riser. Muzzle brake is there to help the shot timer.

50 Meters, actually measured to verify. 10 rd groups, all measured center to center, gun rested on rolled up bath towels.

CCI Tactical, 1 1/8" 10 shot groups.

CCI 40 gr Mini-Mags, 1 1/2" 10 shot groups.

It's just what it was... Would be a bit better with a better rest, I was just curious as my closer up groups seemed to indicate a better then 3 MOA gun but NOT a tack driver.

I have 2 15-22s, second upper, a back-up, is the one I put the scope on to play with as a plinker. Easy to put the C-more back on. Only one lower with a good trigger group etc but two uppers with same parts, brake, C-more etc. Gives a complete upper, or at minimum, a spare complete bolt assy to take to matches as a back-up. Uppers get swapped onto the "good parts" lower.

More mad money and the 2nd lower may get a 2 stage trigger et al but there's an AR in 300 Blkout that's probably first...

Smith ships the accurate units to the UK where 1/4" to 1/2" accuracy at 70 yards is apparently common.

yes the 1522's are hand picked for us here, as we are more

demanding on the quality builds of the rifle

i love the C-More railway on an Alchin mount for my MKIII's and then w/o the mount for my pict railed .22's The easiest red dot eye 'pick up' out there, faster than my EOTech IMO, although the EO is more accurate for groups, the C-More is great for speed shooting. and LIGHT!!!

only issues i have with the C-More is it's semi complicated zeroing with the set screws and such, but other than that, GTG.

I like C-mores. With big (12 or 16 min) dots for steel or bowling pins. On a 1/2" riser Scope Mount Assembly : SCOPE RISER | Brownells on the 15-22.

There's nothing magical about accuracy with any of these optics. There's just parallax and how well suited they are for the target. The issue being the shooters ability to consistently get lined up on the same spot on the target.

The 1-4X is nice for plinking. I "borrowed" it off of my old Model 69 Winchester that will shoot sub 1 MOA 100 yd groups.

Crosshairs are a good thing for hold-over/under.

now my EO's and Aimpoints are 'relatively' parallax free. i know the dot can be in any position in regards to the reticle and target and i will score a hit.
same with the C-more although it is a bit more finicky.
