Beretta 92FS. Shooting SA from the bench, I once put 4 rounds into a clover leaf at 25 yards, with a 5th round about an inch out (1st shot flyer syndrome?).

My pre war Colt Woodsman, my 1911 after attention from my gunsmith. The former will shoot under an inch at 25 yards. The 1911 comes close to the Woodsman.

Hammerli 208S. I got a .79" ten shot group with ,22 LR CCI Pistol Match Ammo at 50 yards from a Ransom Rest. I shot a 3" 10 shot group at 50 yards, one-handed & unsupported, at a Regional Bullseye Match with the same pistol. It scored 100 out of 100! The Hammerli is the pistol on the bottom, but the others can hold their own!

This little Morini 162 EI (you didn't say it couldn't be an air pistol) shoots decently (target shot one-handed & unsupported) at 10 meters:

I've been around for a very long time and have been shooting since I was a young boy. I really can't say that any one pistol or revolver was the most accurate. I have owned many fine Smith & Wessons, Colts, Rugers and now I also have and shoot a Kimber and Springfield. They're all fine machined tools and will perform as good as the person behind the sights.

All of mine are more accurate than the shooter... 99% of the time the weak link in the chain is the Indian not the arrow or the bow shooting the arrow.

Sold my Hammerli 280 yrs ago, it shot great but in bullseye competition I shot the Smith 41 better. Only have a 50' range available and the 41 with a red dot will shoot one raged hole with 5 shots off the top of my box. Larry

Off a rest, at 50 yards, with a 1.75 power handgun scope, 4 rounds into 7/8 inch, then the front mount on the scope shot loose and I threw the last 2 to the right. Should have taken more ammo with me and should have packed a screwdriver.

The pistol, a S&W model 620 357 Magnum.

PS; It took me 6 weeks of practicing twice a week to gain the ability to shoot at this level and I am quite certain that to duplicate this would require a similar amount of time spent practicing. BTW, the shot in the white was a called flyer when I jerked the trigger. It was one of those things where you could feel the tension building and I just could not stop myself from snapping at the trigger.

Baer PH II. Also had an S&W 460 8 3/8 with a Lupy scope that would shoot 2 1/2 groups at 100 yds off sand bags.

Scoped 7-1/4" Ruger Redhawk in .357 Magnum. My own hard cast and handloaded 180s shot to one ragged hole at 50 yards off a rest.

Hard to improve on that...

The "1955" is a Smith and Wesson "N" framed revolver chambered in .45 Colt ACP.

Small bore, Ruger Mark 3 .22 lr, big bore Dan Wesson 15 with .38 special 158 grain HBWC's, and 158 grain SWC. almost as good.
