My Chinese norinco 1911a1 project gun I built. She shoots clusters and cloverleafs at 25 yds no matter who shoots it using Russian wolf 45acp ball ammo. I factored in a 100% lockup in full battery. She runs ammo like a race gun.

Used Chinese norinco $300
New surplus barrel, $59
New nm IAI barrel bushing $12
Full length recoil spring guide with 18# spring. $9
Adjustable trigger $15
Full wraparound rubber grips IAI $10

Labor free done by me. Big bills dream works. I wanted to see how accurate a affordable build could be.

Nice, Mine was the same gun fairly used and reissued to me in the Sheriff Academy in 86. Carried it a few years until we switched to Berettas . Also a great gun I'm retired but I bought the from LASD

My most accurate pistol has to be this Hammerli free pistol, Model 104, I think. However until I master that <1 ounce trigger pull, there will be other pistols I'll be able to shoot more accurately.

Centerfire auto: would be a tie between dad's Springfield 1911 and a CZ 75 SP 01 Shadow.

Centerfire Revolver: S&W 686-4 with a 6" tube.

Sig 220, Springfield TRP 1911, S&W 4566. All were equally accurate and I would need calipers to measure which was the most accurate.

I'am sorry but I don't know what a 1955 is. Is it a pre M52?

The Model 1955 is an N-frame chambered in 45acp.

Revolvers: S&W 610 and 625

Hard to say. Possibly my Clark Long Slide .45, or my M41 7.375". Don't have either one now, which gives you some hint as to my intelligence and judgment in general.

I do have an H&R Model 195, an XP-100 in 7mm Rem BR, and an H-S Precision 7mm-08 which are all quite accurate, the latter two even at 100 yd or 200 yd. Can't really compare them to the absent first two, which brings us back to that intelligence and judgment thing.

This is easy for me to answer: Springfield Range Officer 1911 9mm.

It's the only pistol I own that is setup with adjustable target sights. It's the only one I bough specifically for the joy/frustration of slow fire bullseye.

Browning High Power 9mm. In any handgun distance, this is my best shooter. Shot this target last week. 39 rounds to the torso, 11 to the head. Not as good as some...but I'll take it.

All iron sights:
Revolver - Mod 14-4 8-3/8" with wadcutters; I marked one chamber that will make a clover leaf at 25 yards from a rested two hand hold.
Semi centerfire - Colt Series 70 Gold Cup
Rimfire - Mod 41 from late 70's

hey, john, when i was looking at centerfires for precision shooting, i asked about the range officer in 9mm, on another forum.
the consensus was that no gun in this price range would give me the accuracy i demand at 25 n 50 yards.
are you saying they were wrong?
what kinda groups are you getting?
