I was able to get a 100% Model 59 recently. The owner said he had only shot two mags full through it. A friend had one that I liked to shoot so I bought it. I can't make it group anything however. My Smith 1911 makes a ragged hole at 10 yards. Any recommendations on ammo that will make the 59 do the same?

I always liked the 59 and I also looked at two real nice ones this SAT. I didnot buy one I got a sw chief special 45. Most of the older sw models would not shoot for me I had a nickle sw 39dash 2it shot all over the place . They have a hard trigger and maybe that barrel bushing has something to do with it . Iam still looking at them they are nice.

Hello Tom,

I recently purchase a S&W 59. It shot OK as it was, but I adjusted the rear sight a little. It shot a lot better this past weekend. At 7yds. 3 shots - 1 inch. group . At 10 yds. - 1.5 to 2 inch. . At 15yds., LOL no comment yet.
