For about a year there was a NIB 3" S&W Model 24-6 in the display case that I admired.

Two weeks ago I finally gave in and traded a LNIB 5½" color case hardened USFA 45 Colt for it. The 45 Colt was just too pretty to shoot. It was a safe queen. So I gave it up for something that was more useful. (I already have an old model, large frame Vaquero 45 Colt).

Back in the 80's I carried a Charter Arms Bulldog 44 Spl.

The 3" S&W Model 24 is better. It's a six-shooter and it's stronger and heavier which makes shooting it a real pleasure. Last weekend I sighted it in and had a great time (even though it was 27°F). At ten yards I was shooting clover-leaf groups with Winchester 240 gr cowboy action, lead flat nose ammo.

I really bought that ammo so I could shoot it immediately and save the brass. I have Starline brass on order and will be loading a 200 gr copper plated flat point and a 200 gr Hornady XTP near 900 fps for practice and carry loads.

I have a Mernickle PS6-DA holster on order. I have one for my S&W 581 357 Mag and one for a Ruger LCR 38 Spl. Great holsters.

Pictures? I love shooting my .44 specials and don't have any attraction to the magnums. Your accuracy is not surprising, as it seems to be inherent to the caliber. I like the 240 g. lswc at cowboy velocity of 800 fps
