My brother is a retired LEO. He passed away 12/26/2021. I will be inheriting his 3 duty weapons. His 1st was a S&W .357 19-3. Is there any way I can find when this was manufactured?
Thank you for any help you can give.

Sorry for your loss. It's great that his duty weapons will stay in the family.
If you post the serial number here someone will be right along to date it for you. You can leave off the last couple of digits for privacy if you like (replace with Xs).

Larry: Smith uses ship dates, so one can never be sure the date of manufacture! We can only provide an estimate of the ship date, based on other know ship dates, the only sure way is to request a letter. A very nice letter, but if I recall correctly is $100. The folks here are very knowledgeable and helpful. But they like pictures, too.

If you send an email to Smith & Wesson customer service with the serial number of your revolver they will send you the year it was shipped from the factory free of charge.

Will pick up the gun in May when I go back to Chicago.
Also picking up S&W model 59 9mm and Berreta 96F Centurion.
I will get pictures when I get back to Arizona
