My strongest memory of Bonanza is when the theme played on "Roseane".
I believe he was a native Georgian, wasn't he?

yep...he surely was...excellent actor...musican of sorts and fought for civil rights...

i always liked Adam the best. i have about 100 episdoes of Bonanza on my DVR. TV Land shows 3 a day that get added and i try to watch 1 to delete and take space. the ones they have been showing recently are form the first seasons when they wore differnt costumes and shot cap & ball revolvers. later years they all had the same costumes for continuity and cheap filming sake. i love how its sposed to be 1860s nevada and they are shooting 1873's and what appear to be 94 winchesters. White actors playing Chinese and Mexicans ? no problem. Pernell was only 13 years younger than Lorne but who's counting.
The Ponderosa Ranch, that netire area of nevada from the tahoe shores over to Carson City north to Reno is lovely country. its closed now but the old set just up the road from south lake tahoe area casinos was pretty cool to see. the burning map on the intro is a bit off though.

When I was a kid, my dad would occasionally let me stay up and watch Bonanza on Sunday night. I loved that show. Hoss Cartwright (Dan Blocker) was my favorite.

Don't forget Hop Sing. He died in 1980 in a pottery making accident at age 65. CO gas from a firing kiln. How strange is that?
