I have come to the conclusion that I have an addiction. I bought my first S&W about a year ago ( a 442 ) and recently a sweet 19-5.

I now have a serious draw to buy more. A nice 4" 19 to compliment the 2.5"??

A stainless ??

Thinking real hard about a nice N Frame....

This could get costly :)

Brace yourself, it's a fun ride all the way to the bottom.

I'm trying to convince the female party that I "need" a winter gun..i.e. a nice N frame...most likely a 4" 629.

I tried the whole " well...bigger critters come out in winter..." deal.

I think she smelled Bull****.

I am agonizing over what revolver to buy next.

The trouble is that I know the minute I get it, I will want another.

Same here...I've got a .38...a .357...now I "NEED" a .44.

She just doesn't understand. You gotta have a set.

Hope you really didn't think you were going to find a "cure" for the addiction here!!

You don't have an addiction..you have a healthy appreciation for the finer things in life...
Some of us (that would be me) have a real addiction..when you can't remember which one's or how many you bought last week, or last month, or the month before... and you have to start keeping track of them in a ledger or a spread sheet...then you should start to worry. ...as of now you are just sticking your toe in the water. But the drop off is very very steep... be careful..or you might start really having fun:eek::eek:

Someone else on this site posted a good idea re: the better half. Keep the guns locked in the safe to which only you have a key, and only let her see one gun at a time , either "the blue gun" or "the silver gun". If she's not a gunny that just might work.

Those all sound like pretty good ideas to me!

In the book Unintended Consequences...the main character made a statement to the effect after the first one..the rest are free.

Its all a matter of means and perspective. To some five are a nice collection to others 100 rare examples are not enough. Take a good running start and jump off the cliff...Its all good

There is really no cure - once hooked. You'll never shake it, so make it easier on yourself - & resign yourself to your fate.

Seriously though, if you pay attention to what sells, buy right, & don't plan on selling anytime too soon, you are actually making reasonable investments - that will show growth. Also more fun - & less volatile then a mutual fund...

It is an addiction pure and simple. I started out with a lowly model 36 for CCW. Figgured that was the end of it. Then a model 10, next was a stainless 624 in 44 special, next after that was a 24-3 4"bbl also in 44 special and recently a 24-3 3"bbl lew horton also in 44 special. Also have a model 15 38 special and am looking for a K38 as my nest toy. Frank

Greetings friends !.

I recently had a conversation with a customer in my store
who did not want his spouse to know he had bought another gun.

I asked him if she bought new shoes , and if those shoes ,once she had
worn them were worth the same money (value) after.??

If I buy a Smith and Wesson revolver today for $500. ,,,,
and 5 years from now it is worth $500. . I have hedged against
inflation .

Will her shoes , or purse , or whaaatEVER ,, be worth the same
dollars in years to come??

A good gun is an investment in the future .
If you don't buy dogs , today , you will always be able to re coup your
money in the future.

Will your 401K guarantee the same??

Will your wifes shoes or handbags that she valued so dearly
increase in value with time??

Buying a Quality Smith and Wesson revolver today is an investment
into an uncertain future.

Buy the best , and cry only once.

Be sure to have a good stock of ammunition to go with your
guns.
A gun without ammunition is like a day without sunshine. :) ..

Tell them I said it.

Frank46, best of luck on your search for a K38. Recently found a 15-3 K38. I was'nt interested in a snubby till I saw how well it was taken care of, and it was the only S&W at the shop. Much to my dismay it is my best shooter in the 7-10 yard distance, just an unbelievable pleasure to shoot. To say that it has changed my opinion on .38 spl. snubbies would be a huge understatement. Best of luck.
