S&W did make a few interchangeable cylinder .22 revolvers.
The only problem is that unlike the single action, cylinder changes in a double action are not easy.
What has to be done in a DA is to make up and fit an entire cylinder assembly, including the ejector rod assembly and the yoke or crane the cylinder rides on.
This requires extensive fitting that's beyond most anyone other than a very experienced pistolsmith familiar with cylinder work.
To change cylinder assemblies, you use a screwdriver to remove the cylinder retention screw, slip the assembly out, the other one in and replace the screw.
To get it done right, you'd be best to talk to the S&W Performance Center, which is their custom shop.
The big question is whether they have cylinders and yokes that can be fitted.
Price is going to be like most true custom work, not cheap, but not totally outrageous.
