Adventure Outdoors, New Smyrna, GA - Just don't..

I bought a S&W 17-3 off the Classified section here from a guy who lives in Alpharetta, GA. Really nice guy. Here's a link to the ad:

He doesn't have any LGS's close that will do outgoing transfers. So, he did an internet search and found that Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, GA would do the transfer to me. Before you ask "Why didn't he just send it as a private person", I offered him that solution right out of the box, but he declined. His choice.

Seller received my check Certified Mail on Monday, Aug 19. Took the gun to Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, GA first thing in the morning on Tuesday, Aug 20th and thought it was going out that afternoon, telling me I should receive a tracking number later on that day.

Well, no tracking number that day - Tues, the 20th. No tracking number Wed, the 21st. No tracking number Thurs, the 22nd. And finally, no tracking number this morning, Friday, the 23rd. Mind you, we've been talking all week about it. He's calling them. I'm calling him. When I called him this morning, he was at the counter asking *** was going on. Also, It's an hour drive from his house. The idiots had still not shipped it out!!

He held the phone out to them and asked if they wanted to explain to me why they hadn't shipped the gun out yet. Yeah, They declined. Good choice.
I should have had the gun by now and would have with any competent FFL on the other end..

Don't use those people at Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, GA for transfers. Just don't..

Most consumers consider that place a poop show, on it’s best day.

There are various gun and pawn shops nearer to Alpharetta than AO in Smyrna.

I hope the shipping issue gets resolved for you.

IIRC, the seller recently moved to metro Atlanta. He probably didn’t know of AO’s less than spectacular reputation. It is a large store with an impressive inventory so one would think it is run right.

You say he lives in Alpharetta.

He could have gone to Martin's Coins
and Firearms in that town or Johns Creek
Firing Range in Johns Creek. Both probably
within 10 minutes of him.

Or The Silver Dollar or Sharpshooters USA
in Roswell, both within 15 minutes of him.

You might pass that info on to him.

They all have internet sites.
