It may be your store. It isn't mine. Their prices are the highest of any grocer in my area.

That first sentence has a double negative. For what it's worth.

Actually, the double negative there is fine.

"It's not that no one has tried, just that no one has succeeded." (Similar sentence where the two negatives are used effectively.)

I think the rule for avoiding double negatives pertains to sentences like the following"
"Nobody never saw him."
(Meaning "somebody saw him" which is probably not the meaning the author meant.)

If you don't like the above, it probably means that you can't get no satisfaction...

Although not gun related, I've always enjoyed the story of the sunrise in "Some Like it Hot" with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, et. al..

It seems the scene where they are going to have breakfast on the beach was supposed to have the sun just coming up over the ocean. Now, remember, the plot was that the two guys witnessed the St Valentines Day Massacre and joined an all girl band on its way to Florida to hide out from the mob. Florida. But, the budget didn't allow for that so the whole movie was shot in California, at the Hotel Del Coronado (back before they built the high rises around it).

So, the problem no one thought about, the sun doesn't come up over the ocean in California, it goes down over the ocean.

They actually filmed the sun setting and then ran the film backwards to get the effect. Look closely, you will see the sea gulls flying backwards !!!

Appallingly errant apostrophes are egregiously aggravating an otherwise illuminating examination of errata...

It's not an ad, but I watched the remake of Walking Tall last night. Some guy was firing a machine gun that had a double drum magazine and was belt fed.

Very nice picture - well-worn M9/FS92 with lanyard in a tac holster on some anonymous leg, looking over what I presume are meant to be sand dunes...

... and no magazine in the pistol.

Yeah, I notcied that as well. Very patriotic and looking to be on the ready, with an empty sidearm.

Well, no one else has said it-so I will. That is just plain stupid.

That gun is loaded with a stealth mag.

I was hoping the "no loaded weapons" policy went out after the Beirut bombing in 1983 when 241 Marines were killed.

Yes and filling out endless paper work to insure that "no child is left behind."
