I just started shooting a snubbie in 327 Federal Magnum and would like some advice on reloading. Any recommendations on dies, settings and loads.

I have never reloaded 327 federal but I have reloaded a LOT of .32 S&W and .32 H&R magnum. It is a very easy cartridge to reload, though it generates a lot more pressure than one might expect from a relatively small-bore cartridge. Any decent new reloading manual will give you the information you need. I personally have used primarily Lee or RCBS dies for almost all of my reloading (I load a lot of different handgun calibers) and I use a single-stage press. Have you reloaded ANYTHING previously or are you new to reloading?

I've reloaded a lot of 45 acp and 45 Colts using a progressive and turret press. I'm looking to load some 327 Federal Magnum from reasonably mild to full defensive in stages.

I'm hard pressed to imagine a 32 cal as being anything but mild.
Thats kinda the point of it.

It saddens me to see this one floundering in the market.
I wouldn't want it as a bear gun, But what it does do, it seems to do brilliantly.

Scroll down to the bottom of this thread and you will see several threads listed on the 327 Federal. I load for it.

My shooting buddy reloads for the 327 Federal Magnum. He bought RCBS dies and only uses RCBS. You can save a few bucks with Lee dies, I use monthly Lee dies for handgun ammo.

Any Magnum class powder will work just fine. Use .32 H&R Magnum load data for lighter practice loads. Data is easily available in current load manuals and online from the powder companies.

I call my SW 632 Pro a 6 shot 9mm +P+:)

This one not the ported one.

Nights sights no lock, They no make it no more.:)

Product: ARCHIVE: Model 632

A 115 Gold Dot really screams out of the 2" barrel.

I use Lee Dies with no problems. Hodgdon, Alliant, and Western powders all have loading data on their online web sites. The only Manual that I know to have data for the 327 FM is Hornady's 9th edition. For full power loads 296, H-110, and Accurate #9 have all produced good loads for me. For lighter loads I use Power Pistol, BE-86, and Universal but practically any medium burning powder will work. For very light loads I use TrailBoss. Good Luck, you will really like the versatility of the 327 FM.

Handloader magazine has an excellent article by Brian Pearce on reloading the 327 Fed in the February 2015 issue. Try Wolfe Publishing Co. for a back issue copy.
For full power loads the slow burning magnum powders like AA9, H110, LilGun, N-110, 2400, etc work best. For lighter loads try the medium powders such as Unique, AA5, Power Pistol, or CFE. Dies? Any good brand will work.

I have always used .32 ACP dies (carbide sizing die) for loading .32 S&W Long. Don't know why it wouldn't work with .32 Mag or .327.

I have reloaded quite a bit for both 32 H&R and 327 Fed Mag. Since this was a question about 327 mag, here is my experience: As far as I know, no one makes dedicated 327 mag dies, 32 H&R Mag dies work fine. I use Lee's because they are cheap, come with a shell holder and I have never had an issue with them. My favorite load out of my 4" SP101 is 12.4 grains of H110 under a 100 grain XTP. I get right at 1400 FPS. I would work up up to that load, starting 10% or so below as it is close to max. I also shoot 85 grain XTP's and 115 grain lead FN's. Best results are with the 100 grain load, however. Hope this helps.

Reloading the .327 Magnum

I have yet to find a reloading manual with loads for the .327 Federal. Lots of individual articles online from lots of credible sources but nothing in reloading manuals.
Anyone know of any?

Bigbird - yes, the Hornady 9th Edition has one page (two bullet weights) of load data for the .327. I just got my .327 GP100 last week and I'm waiting on dies, etc from Midway. I decided to use .32HR brass since I have no need for ear-splitting velocity. I posted in a long thread over The Firing Line, and decided to go with Lil' Gun based on input from that thread. Not exactly what you are looking for but here's a screenshot off of Hodgdon's website for .32HR. They also have data for .327 Fed. I might ;) be able to find the Hornady data if you send me a PM. That said, it doesn't amount to much with only eight powders.

Bought RCBS carbide die set, Redding Profile Crimp Die, Dillon conversion kit and a NOE mold a copy of the Lyman 314316 w/gas check. Use 10.0 grs 2400 and 12.0-12.5 grs. 296 in my Ruger Single Seven.
