Aero Alternative to the Sport II $579!

IMHO they have been cracking out a ton of these rifles. So many that the price dropped down to $499 + Shipping and transfer before the latest round of shootings. Now they are up to $625+.

With a ramp up in production there has been some slop in the production. I have seen more reports of QC issues in the last 6 months than in the past. It is not that they are not still good rifles. They are but the details have slipped a bit. Most of fit and finish issues not catastrophic function issues but it still shows a quality drop.

I also prefer the 1/8 twist of the older Sport I and early Sport IIs but for most shooters the 1/9 will be fine.

WVSig stated everything about the Sport 2 that I was thinking. I don't like typing that much, so, I just got to the point about the Sport 2 in my reply.
Compared to my Sport 1 with the 1:8 5R barrel, the Sport 2 just lacks what the "original" Sport 1 has/had. I really can't say that I dislike the Sport 2 if I "had" to buy it, but, the ones that I looked at, held, shot, just couldn't compare to the Sport 1. That's why I took a turn in another direction. I came so close to just building one with all of the parts from PSA (maybe BCM as well), then, on the last day of test firing AR's, my GS friend brought out the Ruger AR-556 he had just got in and I knew that it was the one!
BTW WVSig, I like that AERO platform. Very nice! ;)
