Hi, I inherited this 44 Mag 8 3/8" from my father and am looking at selling it. I do not have the rear sight since it has a Redfield 2 1/2x scope on it :(
It is in great condition.
Model #M629-1
SR# AVD7390

Looking for a date and value to list it for.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

You would be well advised to post pictures in order that the experts here on the forum can give you a more accurate value price.

New on here. I couldn't figure out how to do that. Any advice will be appreciated.

take pic's with phone and upload them to your computer then go to your original post and select edit.....In the upper banner you will see a white smiley face then a down arrow then a paper clip and another down arrow....select the second down arrow to select files (pictures) to insert...it will take you a separate form..select the file (pic) you want to upload ... do this for each pic you want..when you have them all selected and showing as uploaded go back to the second down arrow and select it again...it will show you the pic files you uploaded....select insert all..and submit again

Looks like I already had a username from years ago so now logged in with my previous info.

Are these rear sights readily available?
Expensive?

Ace is correct with his ballpark figure for your gun. Not having that rear sight does hurt value as noted. However having the original grips helps as would having the box the gun came in. Another thing is that the long barrel guns are not as popular as when that gun first came out in the 80's. The trends have changed, I'm in the same situation I have a 686 & a 629-1 in the 8 3/8" barrel length. They were a great combination at the time when I bought them over 40 years ago. But current trends being what they are 4" or 6" barrel guns are an easier sell.

I wouldn't chase the rear sight, the scope is worth more than the sight. Offer it here on the Classified side for $1k. Someone looking for a 44 Mag for hunting will be delighted with it.

As to value though, if it had been my Dad's gun it would be priceless to me. Perhaps you have others though, my kids certainly aren't going to hang on to all of mine when the time comes. Good luck and sorry for your loss.

Hi Jeff, I totally get it. However, I've got way more than I need so downsizing considerably. Saving the collector guns and the older ones I can't figure out for the Colorado Collectors show in May.

Will look for the classified area and see if I can figure that area out...
