Taking cover while it rained I was digging dirt from under my fingernails when I noticed they seem to grow faster as of late so with nothing better to do at that moment I queued up my phone and asked Barney Google why they grow faster as I age?

"As people age, blood circulation can slow down, especially in the extremities. This could be related to fingernails growing faster because they're closer to the heart and receive more blood."

Say again?
What's next, fingernail clippings and cat hair on my pineapple pizza?

Very questionable explanation.

Remind me not to visit your pizzeria. 🤐

If I didn't keep up with my eyebrows and ear hair I would resemble Cousin It.
Amen to that!

I want to know why the hair on the back of my neck, in my nostrils and ears is in hyperdrive, but my forehead keeps getting bigger and bigger. If my eyebrows keep it up, I'll soon look like Brezhnev!

A friend of mine took his grandson to the barber for the youngster's first haircut. The kid complained about grandpa's big bushy eyebrows! He took a picture of the offending face forest ant texted it to "The Guys." One of "The Guys" responded, he didn't see any eyebrows because of the huge caterpillars crawling across his face! Said offending eyebrows were mowed by the barber (for a $2 surcharge) but grew back in a matter of a few weeks!

My mustache is about 7 or 8 inches when pulled out straight, but I usually let it go free range except when dressing for public. I think my eyebrows would eventually exceed my 'stache, if I didn't trim them every other week!

Not close to the heart, close to the surface. Mine used to need trimmed about every 12-14 days when I was 60. Now that I'm over 70, seems to be every 8-10 days. Toenails too - every couple of months years ago, about three weeks now in my 70's. That's bad now that I can no longer sit in a yoga position and stick my foot up to do such a thing as trimming toenails. :(

Came down with toenail fungus awhile back. Lost two of them on my right foot. Toenails also got very thick,I had to buy a special toenail clipper to cut through them. Have been using topical Tolnaftate lotion (tolcylin) every day on the nails, seems to be helping. At least my toenails look a little less repulsive than they were. There is an oral medication for that condition but it carries a risk of liver damage. No thanks.

I was wondering the same thing! Glad it's not a symptom of some horrible disease. Thanks for posting.

One sure sign of incipient dementia -- you start keeping track of how often you trim your nails...

Not sure what that has to do with the heart. Or the surface.

Yes doing toes can be interesting. Double so if you have townails so strong/thick that even after soaking feet in warm/hot water is a job.

I gave up on using regular clippers and now use a good Kline tool!
