Does anyone have any experience with the above listed optic? Just wondering if it holds zero or not? Love my $35 Leapers dot but was interested in getting something smaller and lighter that does the same thing...makes a red dot haha.

Please don't bother posting if you are just going to bash clones..Some work and some don't, thats why I'm asking if anyone has has success with this before buying it.

dont have that one, but have a G&P eotech clone and it works fine.
I guess that one will work fine too.

Check out a primary arms one, they are probally the best clone out there.

"we tested on .22 and works. We don't have high power to test in Hong Kong. We will not have 3 days money back for .223 since we don't have that to test it."

to me that just screams quality.

a .223 kicks a lot more then a .22.
The seller just says it works fine on a .22 and that a .223 isnt tested, which is true for most clones.

right, and most scopes made by reputable companies (even the cheap ones) are tested generally at a much larger caliber than the weapons they are intended for.

just saying, if you wind up with one that fails and need to buy another you'll wish you got something better in the first place. again, price not as important as warranty, and tested specs.

google Sight Mark brand reflex sights...i paid just over $100 at my local Scheels All Sports and it has been well worth it--

mine isnt the bargain-basement model and it isnt the top-tier so there is some flexibility as well--I am not going to bash clones ( done that enough in the other threads) but i am going to warn that Ebay is a terrible place to source something as quality driven as optics

BUY CHEAP PAY TWICE

couple pictures of my setup...give you an idea of what i am referencing

I would be cautious who I bought a MicroDot from. Here's why.

-- The riser is attached with four screws that go into the bottom housing of the MicroDot. Marshall at PA got a batch one time that the factory had punched holes right on through the scope housing which allowed moisture inside the optic and of course they fogged up. Marshall immediately replaced all. Would this guy?

-- The QD on these cheap risers really do suck. PA is no exception. At least with the PA riser there is a bolt that goes all the way through that you can just tighten the nut on and forget about the QD lever. Does this one? I could not tell.

-- The 4MOA MicroDot Gen2 that Marshall had used an emitter that was at the bottom of the scope housing. This was a problem for co-witness because the emitter blocked a significant portion of the front sight post. That has been fixed with new Gen7 3MOA versions and now the emitter is off to the side rather than at 6oclock. How about the 4MOA one you are looking at?

The one you are looking at may be great, I don't know. But the above are some things that I would be looking out for.

Great info guys, I think I'm just going to spring for the Bushnell version of the micro-dot for $100 bucks. I know bushnell is reputable but anyone got any expeience/have anything to say about that one?

The Bushnell is one that does not have a removable short base (like the four screw kind I was describing). So the riser you get will be kinda like a generic rail riser that's shortened. Some guys like the removable base style and riser because it looks like the Aimpoint unit rather than an optic siting on a rail riser.

I just bought a bushnell for $80 shipped :D I'm fine with a generic $10 riser. What height will give me a dead center co-wit with this optic? Thanks for the help phil!

That thing is gorgeous!

Know what height riser I need for that tr25?

I can't speak to the ebay one, but Primary Arms also has a clone Micro Dot. I've bought several optics from them and have always been pleased with their products and customer service.

Thanks :D

I don't know. The link shows UTG has three-- low, medium and high. They have to be .5, .75 and 1in. My guess is that the .75 puts it close to dead center, and the 1in is lower 1/3. The riser I have on my MicroDot (4 screw kind) is 1in for lower 1/3. The glass is very small on the micro dot so it is not a bad idea to get co-witness as low as possible. If it's dead center or higher then you ain't got much down range view when your sights are up. I guess the high one... maybe. But then maybe they have their emitter at 6'oclock and a .75 would be better... maybe..?? How's that for an answer? If I were doing it, I know whatever one I picked would be wrong. So for $8ea I would buy both and toss one in the parts box (I have a BIG parts box) hahaha

I just bought the TRS-25 and am using a UTG .83 riser and it works pretty well. I bought it shipped from Ultimate arms for about $12.

I was using a 1" riser at first and that was way too high. Cowitness was right at the bottom..

the emitter on the TRS-25 is in the 4 o'clock position...

I have a recent Primary Arms Micro Red Dot and have been very happy with it.

Another vote for Primary Arms. Good products and great customer service. They also carry Vortex. I have a SPARC on my SCAR16 and I have been very happy with it.
