Just won off that site an AIP serialed 6906. No mag but looks good for $367.88. It has the 2nd gen sights but they appear to be night sights. Might pay another 100 to see if there's more to it.

Please post some pics of your newly won 6906. The 2nd gen sights make me think it is likely an early production version of the 6906, the type with the long, hooked (square) trigger guard.

It does have the hooked trigger guard. I'll post better pics once it gets to my gun store.

Cool! It’s an early Third Gen gun. That’s sort of verified by the AIP serial number (Automatic Improvement Program, assigned to some early production Third Gen pistols AS PER Supica and Nahas in the SCSW 5th. Edition).

I have a Mod 669 that must have gone back to the factory with a serious frame issue. That resulted in a new Third Gen frame being stamped with the original model and serial number, being mated with the original Second Gen slide. Similar to your pistol, but without the dovetail front sight.

Yep, easy to identify with the "fire" indicator on both frame and slide. Nice to have that upgraded grip.

More info on my AIP 6906.

Looks like that shipped to Cheshire & Perez Distributing in Monrovia, California on September 26, 1988. SKU number is 104054, which I show to be a 3 ½-inch stainless gun with 12 shot magazine, fixed sights, and ambidextrous safety. Looks like this was initially made for the New Hampshire State Police; I suspect yours was part of an overrun that were sold to various distributors
