Aircraft pictures from Twitter/X

I likes me some Convairs. I was born and raised in San Diego, the home of a massive Convair factory, and these babies rumbled over our house frequently. At our house, we could clearly hear a B-36 or the XC-99 (only one was made) revving up for takeoff from Lindbergh Field, even though we lived 10 miles away.

Convair also made civilian aircraft. Here's a photo of a Japan Air Lines Convair 880 on a test flight over San Diego. I like this photo because it shows my high school below the starboard side of the plane, just aft of the wing. I ran many laps on that track!

If you have any interest in aviation photos, the San Diego Air and Space Museum has a Flickr site that has nearly one-half million aviation related photos. Not all photos are of aircraft, but there is enough interesting stuff to keep an aviation fan busy for months.
Here is the website: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdasmarchives/albums/
I advise starting with the albums. Their descriptions will give you an idea of what's inside. You can then choose what topics are of the greatest interest to you.
Enjoy!

The A-10C pictured above is with the 75th Fighter Squadron, the outfit that my son did his 4 combat tours in Afghanistan with. Those guys were some crazy dudes. Here he is right after returning from the range at Moody AFB. It took me two days to get that smile off my face
