I went to the gun show in Akron yesterday, armed with a wallet full of greenbacks & shopping list. Came home with all my money minus the $6 to get in - plus the $1 to park in a mud bog.

There were a few nice guns. There was one vendor who has a nice group of M19s he was selling but they weren't priced for a fast sale. I saw a M64 that was well used but seemed tight; it would have been a good stable mate for my M10 but I thought the ticket of $400 was too high for the condition. There was a nice M59 that was offered to me for $480, and a nice 6" 25-2 for $750, and a few others that I looked at.

But - nothing on my current "got to have" list. I saw no short barrel M686s, no M29s at all, no M645s or M4506s. I think the next show in the area is a month away in Berea; maybe I'll give it a shot but it will probable be a lot of the same guns I saw yesterday. Disappointing!

You were not at the OGCA yesterday, you were at the Akron gun and knife show, a huge difference. The OGCA at The Roberts Center near Willmington, Ohio was packed with many excellent examples of S&W firearms of all descriptions. as well as many serious collector items available. I was there yesterday as well as Friday night setup.

Thanks pinduck - I'm still a little new to the Ohio gun shows & didn't mean to misrepresent - I edited my post.

In my gun show experience, if you're looking for it.....it won't be there.......if you're NOT looking for it.......there'll be lots of them.

Russ

I get it Russ - so maybe I should go to the show blindfolded! :D

I admire your resolve. I can never seem to walk away, even if I have to make a last minute addition to the "list" you mentioned, lol. I sure didn't need a brand new Model 10 last weekend, but that's what I came home with. ;)

The nice thing is that its pretty tough to make any real mistakes when it comes to putting money down on a solid S&W revolver.

You're lucky, you have $ already socked away for the next show!
