Welcome from Great Lakes region of NY. I have a good friend in Ontario that I hunt and fish with. When coming into US to hunt it got to be such a hassle bringing his own rifle he just uses one of mine. He tells me the gun control horror stories that Canadian Citizens are subjected to. So I guess my question is, what is required of you to own a dreaded handgun in Canada??????

To own handguns, you need to take a course and apply for a federal license. Can only shoot at a gun club, and no carry license allowed. Their newest push is banning semi auto rifles. That will hurt.
