Albuquerques, Goverment SUCKS!

Years ago, I had a special agent with the FBI present a program to the Explorer Post I was the advisor for. ( I know bad grammer) Anyway, he went through a number of Federal laws the FBI is charged with the enforcement. At some point in his presentation he told them "Remember, it is almost always about the money."

As I have noted over these years just how right he is on so many issues. It is always about the money.

The photo tickets are civil, which is why there are no points. (Since it's civil, it's neither s felony nor a misdemeanor!) If you don't pay them, they can't issue a warrant for your arrest- they actually have to file suit against you, or turn it over to a collection agency.

It might vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction whether you pay the government or the contractor, but either way, the contractor gets a very healthy cut. Of course, that's to pay for the lease and upkeep on the equipment... never mind that the more tickets get issued, the more money the contractor makes!!! These things are all about revenue, not safety. And lest anyone think I'm anti-cop or in favor of law breakers, I'm just finishing my 28th year on the job, and I've issued thousands of tickets. But, I did it face-to-face. I didn't mail them to people!

Whew! Your post/response was so convoluted it was necessary to put it in understandable form. I'm not sure everything is right, but here goes:

You were speeding (breaking the law) knowingly.

No, Bob R I'm not sure at this time that I was speeding, perhaps If a cop would have stoped [sic] me, I might have found out. My normal speed is never over 65. I drive over 40K a year, and this is my first ticket in almost 40 years!

You know that the possibility of getting a ticket is one of the risks of this behavior.

Of course I do, that's why I never drive over 65, I-40 in the west the normal speed is 75

(Now, that sounds like a true story.)

Wait...you did get caught..and now it is costing you some money.

Yes, I was caught and I'm not complaning [sic] about the ticket or the cost, I said, I did the deed, I'll pay the fine, no complaint.

You have no complaint? Then what the heck are you complaining about?

Somehow it is not your fault you got the ticket, yet the fault of the City of Albuquerque?

Why of course it's my fault, did I forget to say I was driving! It's not the citys [sic] fault. I don't understand why you would say that.

He said that because you said, ".........the result of this is that in Albuquerque … the cops and the city fathers don't give a rats behind about your safety or mine......."

You're contradicting yourself.

I don't see the need for a rant, other than the fact you were caught in a revenue generating scheme endorsed by the city by knowingly violating the law.

Again, I still didn't knowingly do this deed. But, I must have.

Well, then stop complaining and take it like a mature human being.

Excuse me if my sympathy meter doesn't twitch.

I didn't ask for your stupid sympathy. Thank You.

Bob won that one.

If I was looking for any replys [sic] to my post, then it was to see others view of the photo stops.

Photo stops are indeed effective in slowing people down. That's a fact. Just because there's no officer there you whine because it's cold and impersonal?

You should be glad there was no officer there. With your childish whining you probably would have gotten tazed.

In Montana I knowingly broke the law by speeding on a regular basis, when I did get stopped I would hand over my license, my registration and insurance card. I would also get out a 20 dollar bill so when the officer came back I would post my "bond" and the ticket would go away. It is the way they do things there, anything under 10mph over and it will cost you 20 dollars. I sped, I got caught, I paid...end of story.

I worked for over 30 years as an electrican for a Missouri Sign Company. We installed many of the signs on our highways and if they were electric I was there. I don't knowingly speed (like you do) any where, and I don't knowingly speed in a work zone. I'm still not sure how I did this, but I must have.

But, you broke the law and got caught. Then, you come onto this board complaining. It doesn't matter how (robotic/electronic sign) or why (enforcement of existing law/revenue generating device) you got caught. The fact is, you got caught breaking the law and now you're going to pay the price!

This is your funniest/most ludicrous post:

I guess that if you seen a poor person freezing on the street, you would just poor gas on him and light the fire, instead of building him a fire to warm him.

LOL! Bob refuses to sympathize with your getting caught breaking the law and you liken it to murder?

You're a trip.

No need to reply, you have been added to my ignore list.

What the heck? Have we somehow hacked into the prepubescent Glock Talk forum?

Oh, and before you threaten me with the dreaded, "I'm going to add you to my ignore list," let me simply say, "Who freaking cares?"
