A friend just sent me this really nice rig by Alfonso's of Hollywood, a well know custom leather shop. Alfonso's is part of revolver history.

It is super comfortable. Rides high but tight to the body. Was initially worried about the uncovered trigger guard, but the leather strap pins the hammer down HARD. Further, it's protected by my side, arm, and a cover garment. Excited about this one. Going to put it in the carry rotation.

Here it is with a 3" Model 10-7

Nice score, congratulations! I had one of Alphonso's fast draw rigs for my Single 6, it was a real nice hunk of leather. It shrunk with age though so I sold it....at least thats what I tell myself.....

Ummm. Dude! You do realize that the FBI, Border Patrol, etc. used uncovered trigger guard holsters for decades, don't you?

Classic designs by Tom Threepersons and Bill Jordan didn't cover the trigger.

Most men wearing these holsters were government employees. You're smarter than that, right? :D You should do fine. Just keep the trigger finger alongside the trigger guard until the gun clears leather and is en route to shoot.

I think you need help. Look for books like Chic Gaylord's, Handgunner's Guide or John Bianchi's, Blue Steel and Gun Leather. Or Elmer Keith's, Sixguns, preferably the 1961 revised ed. with later product info.
