Perhaps you could try using a fired (empty) casing instead of the plastic insert? Do you have difficulty pulling the slide back all the time, even when there is no "snap cap" installed? If so, there could be another, unrelated issue.
I have a question for all here; I will be buying a Model 41 this summer, and have read numerous posts regarding extractor problems. Is this a systemic issue with the Model 41, or is it unique to "new" models. ??

Thus anybody could tell me what i can do ?
To ovoide having a big problem !
To pull back my slide,( Its very hard and very-very difficult to pull back that slide.. When i have one of these dry fire plastic 22 cal in the barrel to protect my firing pin when and after I have pull the trigger..
Thank you very much for your advices my friends , wich you all to have a super day " Pinguino"
It is normally a little harder to pull back the slide after dry firing as you are cocking the internal hammer while retracting the slide. Hope this helps.
Here's my (1973 vintage) model 41 with Nill grips.
Nice pistol! How do you like the Nill grips compared to the S&W factory grips?
Some do, some don't.
