Still fooling with the sights on two BG2.0s. The rears are from BG1.0s, which are the right size for the OEM front. The front is OEM, but I've painted the dot white...the red didn't stand out, and the night sight so dim it wasn't worth the trouble. The white is easy to pick up.
Ordered a pair of Ameriglo front sights; they are night sights, with a bright yellow surround. They are the right height and width to work well with the BG1.0 rear.

Trouble is, the tech at Ameriglo said their sights fit all M&P pistols. He was almost right. It slips right in...but would slip right out again as well.
I peened the sights a bit, to raise some metal, and promptly broke the ears off both. I used a padded vise in both cases.
Ameirglo was nice about a return, but I'd really like these sights to work.
Any other suggestions on how to tighten sights in their dovetails?

A co-worker of mine has mentioned cutting off a piece of an aluminum can to use as a shim when you have a dovetail on the wide end of tolerances and a sight on the narrow end of tolerances. This scenario wasn't unusual with Blue Label Gen 4 Glocks that had the optional Trijicon HD sights.

I haven't personally tried it, however.

Beju, a shim of some kind did cross my mind, and wish I'd tried that route.
