Like others on the forum, I have found K-frames to be particularly nice revolvers, and I've been fortunate enough to add a couple of 2½" models to my modest collection over the last year or two. However, I've been reluctant to pay almost twice as much for a 3" model, as judging by the recent prices I've seen on GB approaching $1000+—that last ½" has gotten pretty expensive!

I then realized I might like a variation on the theme, a Ruger Six-series. So this is my recently acquired Security Six in 2.75" stainless, perhaps not the level of refinement of a Smith, but a very nicely made revolver with that famous Ruger "built-like-a-tank" quality ("bank vault" comes to mind.) For a little context, I've shown it with my 66-2 and 66-5, as well as a 686+.

Haven't had it to the range yet, so can't comment on how it handles. Trigger is smooth but heavier than the Smiths in both DA and SA, but I understand that can be addressed if desired. Anyway, hope it's ok to share, I know I'm not on the Ruger forum, but I thought I might not be the only one who might like one of these, if you like Smith revolvers.

Sure nothing wrong with that.

Good looking collection

Iggy, thanks!

Bob, the Six is a "square butt", so that's as low as the back gets (but I hear you, some people grind down the frame to more "round".)

The extra length is only important if you need to do fast reloads - the longer ejector rod kicks out the empties much better.
