A friend of mine has a 66-2 with a 4" barrel stainless steel has only been shot 1 time then stored . I look at the gun today it is very good shape . What do you think it is worth ? Numbers are AVW 86xx. Has orginal box & papers . Thanks for your help.

The 'good friend price' ? $400. to $500.
The auction price ? $500. and up depending on pictures and which way the wind is blowing that day.

Is your friend offering you the gun? It is generally conceded that the seller sets the price.

Welcome to the forum and the world of Smith revolvers.
Good luck with your deal ,if that's what it is.

No ,I'm not buying it ,but like to have it . It's not for sale at this point. I toll him was a great gun to hang on to it , not sell it . But he decided to at some point see me 1st.

Allen frame is all over the price..although I don't know if even the "good friend" price will get down to 400, but you can always hope!

I was thinking more like 600.00 - 700.00 range . I know if I own it ,500.00 would not touch it .

I might expect the 700 range on GB, but they are going for quite a bit less than that around here.
