Believe this has been discussed in the past, but the local PBS station has been running his film of his years living alone in the Alaska wilderness as part of their pledge drive.
Amazing story, and man! His craftsmanship in building his cabin and living in the wilderness is fascinating to me. I believe his film is available on the net, maybe Amazon?

This link has most information and both videos. He was one of the most talented cabin builders I have ever seen. The only thing I have even seen which was close was a video on u-tube of some Finns building a Cabin with all hand tools.
