I'm kind of a nut when it comes to good looking wood, so if I see something that I think might look good on one of my revolvers, I jump on it. Here's a S&W Model 24-3 wearing Altamont's reproduction "Coke Bottle" Target Grips for N-Frame. As you can see in the last picture, I have the original S&W Target stocks that came with the gun when purchased in 1983. As I recall from my reading, the Model 29 could be ordered in years past with the Coke Bottle grips. Not only do these replacement stocks look good on the 24-3, they fit me a lot better than the original stocks. Now I'm anxious to shoot the revolver with these Altamonts and see how they really feel. I would appreciate any photos you guys have of your guns with "Coke Bottle" Target stocks for comparison. Thanks for looking.

That looks like the same profile as the smooth combats from Altamont I just got. May have to switch out, for the checkering.

Those look nice! I like the hour glass shape. Attached is a couple of pics of "Cokes" on my 1960 ND model 29. I have big hands, and still find the Cokes more comfortable than regular targets, especially the later ones that seemed to get more "blocky" as time went on.

I ordered a pair of Altamont Cokes for an early 27 a number of years ago and the fit was poor and the screw retainer kept falling out. I’m glad others have had luck with them but Im not ordering from them again.

I like the “coke’ shape myself. I don’t think they make a Kframe version, at least that I could afford.
I bought a smooth presentation set from Randy (fleabus101) and set them to Curt Harlow. He reshaped them and checkered them in a similar pattern.
They came out very well I think.

I much prefer the darker, satin grips on the gun now over the lighter, gloss grips!

I’ve got some Coke style targets for N frame that are the thinner Roper pattern. Don’t know who made them. Also got similar set that maybe early Herret. I been going to take a set of beater N Targets and thin them to the bone. I like the depth from back strap to trigger but don’t need the bulk.

What did Altamont say or do to correct the situation when you brought it to their attention?
