I needed something more hand filling for my new production 27 and my round butt .44 special so I picked up a pair of Altamonts for the revolvers. I feel they turned out pretty well.

Just something to break up the quarantine boredom!

Look good. I have looked at their grips a few times, I am wanting to pick up a set of combat grips for my 625 and Alaskan.

Man I ordered grips from them weeks ago, then they emailed me to say they we out of stock. Now I'm waiting for the ones I took instead. If they look as good as yours, cool. Otherwise dang...

I particularly like those grips for your model 27. The "wings" at the top and the area just below are a bit proud, but that is a good thing. You'll be able to shave them down a tad until they're even with the backstrap. I never understood why so many grip makers leave these areas shy of the metal. Their purpose is to widen the area of contact between your hand and the top of the backstrap, making recoil much more comfortable, and it was why the magna grips came about in the first place. If you've ever fired heavy loads with minimalistic "classic" grips, you've no-doubt experienced some discomfort when that narrow area of the topstrap slams into your hand. If I knew for certain that any grips I ordered from Altamont would be similarly proudly-proportioned, that's all I would order. Sadly, this seems to be hit-or-miss. You got lucky.

I have many sets of Altamonts of different varieties. Couldn't be happier.

Here're a few examples

Just curious - the Model 27 Classic - which is what I assume yours is, since you specified "new production," comes with Altamont grips. What was on yours originally?

Adios,

Pizza Bob

BTW: Altamont has the absolute best customer service

Great looking grips OP.

Bob, my 27 Classic came with Altamont Target Grips which I changed out for the real thing.

You are right about Altamont and its Customer Service. I asked if I could have silver medallions on the "Cokes" instead of bronze. As you can see, it was no problem.
