Aluminum Frame M&P9 M2.0

Saw a YouTube review and they mentioned that the new metal frame is only 2 ounces heavier than the polymer version. I was actually hoping the metal one would weigh significantly more than the polymer.

I cannot get the Smith configurator to give me an alloy frame option. That might be a function of how locked down I run my computers, of course.

The weight difference is minimal, but I wonder if there is a change in the weight distribution.

I don't think you can build one as there's only 1 SKU in the 'metal' series. 13194

I think it's great that they offer the option. As long as they're adding choices and not removing them, I'm all for it. The all-metal people get their guns, and the plastic people get their guns...I'm not seeing the problem here.

Personally, I prefer polymer frames. My wife and I really love our 3.6 Compacts, but it's awesome that the people who don't share the enthusiasm for plastic have an option now to enjoy these well-made pistols.

looks ugly. the m&p 2.0 looks good because they melt all the edges. this one looks like an ugly turkish produced gun with straight corners and random cuts into the frame

Problems were 2-fold. First, the apex trigger hit the frame thus preventing the gun from firing, and secondly, the safety plunger was too short thus preventing the gun from firing. I had to file the frame to achieve proper clearance for the shoe and use the factory plunger to get it to fire.

Threw in a Timney Alpha and wow.

So you really did the timney trigger , sear and safety plunger kit !! Not just a trigger like some have done with apex then theres a plastic trigger that is not very good . ??

Timney kit 159 dollars
Apex FST kit could be as high as 180 dollars retail for both .
Not quit a 100 dollars difference !!

Guess your one of the very few 1/2% that had apex trigger issues maybe. But after a little grinding here and there maybe it was something else .
