Am I asking too much? Surely I'm not the only guy who would buy this:

a) I want an L-frame revolver
b) Shrouded ejector (not full underlug)
c) Choice of barrel lengths including 5"
d) Sold with 38 Sp/357 Mag and 9mm moonclip ready cylinder
e) Adjustable sights with changeable inserts

Is this too much too ask?

Be interesting to hear people's thoughts on this.

ATB,

Scrummy

No way would I want my .357 chambers jugged out enough to accomodate 9mm. If you want to shoot 9mm, use a separate cylinder.
I reload and I don't want the case head expansion in .357 from jugged chambers and frankly, I personally don't want an L frame 9mm at all.

If you drop the 9mm, that can be had in 4" as the 686 SSR. The front underlug was trimmed to make IDPA weight, and the front sight is easily changed.

Sorry, I should have made it clearer:

2 cylinders: 1 for rimmed and one for moonclip carts.

They made the 619 and 620, which were L frames with shrouded ejector rod in 357 mag. Apparently they did not sell very well.

I'm not sure S&W wants people going around changing cylinders and I would not want cylinder or barrel tolerances out of wack just for the ability to shoot 9mm...

I had a late model Ruger Blackhawk convertible and was less than impressed by the gun's performance with 9MM. The slightly smaller .355-.356 inch 9MM projectiles just don't engage the rifling very well in barrels made for .357-.358 inch .38 Special/.357 Magnum caliber.
