AM I THE ONLY ONE????

Me: This is going to be expensive, isn't it.
Trooper: Yep. I clocked you at 94, but I bet you were going faster. (Good bet).
I am citing you for 84 in a 55. That will save you 190 bucks. It's still going to cost you $190, but it will save you $190.

I got very lucky.:D I was caught by the radar at 93 mph in a 75 mph zone, there is a discount on the speed read for radar errors. that put me slightly under the 13 mph threshold before the ticket values gets serious and would leave me with a month driving inhibition.

So I got of easy with a 66 bucks ticket.;)

Edit. They don't even stop you anymore. they just sent the ticket by registered mail with a photo from the radar camera.

Edit2. The truth. I simply got carried away. Because I knew there was a radar on that spot.:o

Never had any interest in football. Couldn't tell you the position of any player beyond the QB and the Center.
It doesn't make the game a bad thing, it's just me.
I'm not much of a TV watcher anyway, sports or otherwise.

..I do hope the little Pizza Shops and bars made a lot of $$ yesterday.
That'd be a good thing IMO

I still had to go to court on that one to avoid the suspension. That's another story. In a nutshell, The high point was the prosecutor out in the hall with my lawyer while the judge, his reporter and I listened from the courtroom:
"You're trying to make a [expletive deleted] monkey out of me!"

The judge accepted my plea to 74 in a 55, which let me keep my license.

I just hope I wasn't caught on radar in other places at other speeds.

For several decades I've regularly attended our local high school games, football, volleyball, soccer, you name it, where I know half the players personally and find people to chat with in the audience.

(PS: I think that's small-town America at its best. And yes, "Hoosiers" is the only sports movie I've ever liked :))

I'm not interested in any kind of sport that you have to watch on TV.

On the other hand, I don't find elaborate explanations why people don't watch certain sports, political or otherwise, very interesting either.

Since I do have friends who like to engage in both, over the years I've developed some pretty good avoidance strategies to politely redirect such conversations ;)

Someone take your ball when you were a kid?

I've played, Soccer, Handball, Basketball Volleyball and tennis. I've run cross country and also swam. Never played football because there was none here.

But I find watching others play boring.:D

No football fan here.

My idea of a spectator sport was watching the Victoria's Secret fashion show. I even have my favorite "players".

My pick of the MVP for all seasons of the shows over the 20 (?) year run is Doutzen Kroes, with Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel as very close contenders. But I liked Heidi Klum, too, and saw her in person. I acknowledge Adriana Lima as an iconic VS model; she just wasn't my personal favorite. I think the 2014 show from London was the best, and was Doutzen's final walk for the firm.

She left to accept a huge offer to be L'oreal Paris's chief Euro model. (She's Dutch.)

Alas, the show was cancelled last year, largely due to PC pressure from women who don't feel they were part of the intended target audience. Well, gee whiz! I can't qualify as an astronaut, but I'm not going the picket NASA to be more "inclusive!"

I'm crushed. That was my only spectator show. I usually watch history, wildlife, and detective shows. The only consolation is that several of the models have their own vlogs. These include Doutzen Kroes and another favorite, Devon Windsor. And the fashion shows are on YouTube. Taylor Swift was at her best in the 2013 and 2014 shows. I can't comment here on her latest work. But I USED to be a fan...

I was going to watch the Super Bowl and was wanting KC to win. I didn't turn the TV on until the kick off and the promptly slept through the first half and woke up to the trash that is called entertainment.
I watched most of the second half and was pleased with the outcome. I don't like what is happening tp the game of football but whether I watch it or not doesn't make it better or worse.

As you can see from the posts here, you most certainly are not alone.

I was getting real tired of the actions of the NFL players before the kneeling started and, when they started that silliness, both my wife and I stopped watching.

On top of that, I live in the TampaBay area where the Bucs play and after many years of watching them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, I don't miss them.

I used to be a die hard Raiders fan, but for the last decade or more they have sucked and then the kneeling issue I just quit watching. I do still watch baseball but just the Cubbies games. Otherwise its the Outdoors Channel & shooting, fishing and hunting shows.

I played Tennis and Golf where all the girls were.:DAnother Popcorn thread. How many threads on the Super Bowl and NFL suks have there been over the last few year?
The first half was slow, The second half(4th q) was good. The end.

Where are the threads on the "best" commercial, thee National Anthem and the Half time show?

There were maybe 3 good commercials
The anthem was sung well
The half time show was of course was over the top and "political" Dare not say anymore
The two "entertainers" did look nice however,:D The rest was terrible

I did enjoy the 1975 film, Black Sunday, based on Thos. Harris's book of that name.

The plot involved using the Goodyear blimp to kill the audience in the Super Bowl. I'm surprised that terrorists never managed that in real life. It'd be a prime target.

Terrific movie! I was amazed at the degree to which the Super Bowl assisted. This was certainly one of Robert Shaw's best roles, made the same year that he starred in, Jaws, too.
