I found this 4" 629 ND for sale at the local gun show in OKC today. I didn't really need it, since I already have 2, but the price was a complete "no brainer." I won't reveal the price paid to prevent mass flash flooding in low lying areas, we'll just leave it as no person in their right mind would pass it up.
The gun appears as unfired other than factory testing, a non-existent turn line, all of the factory papers and the wrapper for the missing tool kit, which is probably in the missing presentation case. It's a good thing I happen to have one. The box is the plain blue box that the gun shipped in with the wooden case.
Now that I have a "NIB" example and two "shooters," what is a man to do with them all?

They don't get any nicer than that. The 4" 629 no dash was a one year only (1981) gun. I admit I may be a bit biased about these; I have a similar example..

Congratulations. I picked up a 4 inch like yours a few years ago and a 8 3/8 inch about a year ago. Haven't found a 6 inch yet.

I would be curious what the s/n range on these 4" guns would be. Introduced in 1981, but I'm betting actual production was
really only a few months before the -1changes were effected. Two of mine are about 600 apart, while the third is 14,000 from my lowest. Anyone keeping a database, or interested in keeping one?

beautiful.
I paid $1350 for mine a few months ago. No box.
Did you do better?
“I gots ta know…”
I haven’t yet fired it.
