Went to the gun show in Melbourne, Fl. this am. Walked the whole show and never touched a gun. Nothing I really wanted. Did find some bullets and cases. Got 150 cases of .32 H&R Mag Starline Brass, 500 .32 90 grain Hornaday SWC's, 500 .32 78 grain RN bullets made by Lane, and 500 .30 carbine 115 grain RN for $50.00 OTD. Just a fast check with on line prices came to $153.00. Looked like a dealer had got an old estate and was trying to unload the whole things cheap and fast.

I've been finding good deals at local Fish and Game club "swap meets" here in Pa. This past month I've bought a box of 50 210 gr jacketed SPs for my 41 mag for $5 and 140 405 gr Hornady jacketed slugs for my 45-70 for $40. And an unopened box of 500 44 caliber gas checks for another $5. Plus other odds and ends at low prices.
I find that walking through 2 or 3 times, or even more, brings up things I missed on the first pass. The table with the 41 Mag bullets had a nice Swedish Mauser M94 cavalry carbine in the rack tagged at $350. I didn't see it until the 3rd pass and by then it was sold! Guess I was too excited about the bullets to notice it the first time through or it would have come home with me.

Have found a lot of good items at the "Firehall" & "Sportsman Clubs" gun shows in Western Pa.!

When I first moved to Merritt Island ('89ish), I used to enjoy that show in Melbourne. Decent number of vendors and components for reloading at reasonable prices. I'd say you did well with your component purchase.

Only go maybe once a year. Same vendors with the same stuff mostly. Lots of "Stuff" - Jerky, jewelry, cases, etc. Also mostly Black guns and pistols.

Mostly I go to the Vero Beach gun show as it is 5 miles from my house. All that my friend and I look for is odds and ends, like the bullets and cases that I found.

I agree with "seeing things" the second, or third time around.

The one at the fairgrounds in Orlando used to be a really good show. Since relocating to Western Tennessee +15 years ago, I've only been to 2-3 shows. Seems like the vendors are all the same with much overpriced items - lots of black rifles and plastic pistols - and miscellaneous "stuff" - and darned little in the way of components for reloading and what there is, is grossly overpriced IMO (but then again, I laid in my favored supplies a long time ago).

We use to go to the gun show in Lakeland several times a year. We stopped finding guns that interested us (I guess that is a sign you have to much maybe). Started looking for components and pieces/parts. Finally made the decision that a six hour car trip was not worth it (3 over & 3 back). So now do the local ones (Melbourne once a year & Vero Beach each quarter). Melbourne is 30 miles from me and we eat lunch a Hooter's. Vero's show is 5 miles. So both are close enough to waste a few hours looking. Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while!
