If you ever happen to go through Claremore OK, stop by the J.M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum. Okay, I know "where is Claremore?" It's a bit out of the way, not far from Tulsa on historic Rte. 66.
It is an amazing collection of guns of all ages up to the 1950's. Something like 7,000 firearms on display. It can be a bit frustratingly organized but it is worth it. Some of the crime related guns are extra interesting as is the the collection of hangman's nooses.
1300 extra guns are being sold at auction the end of July. Including a bunch of muzzle loaders, sporterized military rifles and others. Including some things that shouldn't be sporterized. The M1 Garand with a vent rib caught my eye.
