Amazon Problems

According to FNC 10K Teamsters that work for Amazon just walked off the job to strike. Fortunately we have nothing on order as we have already received all our Christmas packages.

I feel for those whose goods are now in limbo.

I wish Paul Harvey were still here. He always would tell what the other guys weren't reporting.

The Amazon workers in question are not unionized. The Teamsters want to get them in their flock so THEY organized the strike. They hope to get more union dues.

When things got abusive, Amazon management closed the plants in question because they feared for the safety of their employees. With a multitude of plants in their distribution network, they just might be able to get the customer's presents in time after all....hopefully.

My Grandpa was a Teamster. When he retired if you uttered the word union, his face got red. If you said teamster, that was when I learned some choice German expletives.

Well the cat's outta the bag. Now she knows I bought a Grill. She saw the email about the order from Amazon is being delivered tomorrow...she went and checked orders on the Amazon site...compared tracking numbers and sure nuff...The real concerning thing....I didn't think she knew how to do this digital stuff. I'm lucky though...went and bought her a new sewing machine yesterday...Maybe she won't hurt me and beat me....unless I sacrifice one of those rib roasts to the gods. Maybe I should start with something simple like hamburgers or hotdogs
.

Two months ago the wife said she "needed" a new sewing machine. I said "how much?". She said "Two Grand". But, with her trade-in and the new one on sale, she got it for 5 bills.

Then she said "how much did you pay for the two AR15s you got this year?".

I said I'll help you go pick it up.

Oh, and we resolved that it would cover her birthday and Christmas.

Just a little something to help get rid of that junk boxes and trash/ Always open the boxes from the bottom. Put trash in box add a little heavy stuff. Tape bottom...put on porch. Turn out lights like you're not home after dark
I actually enjoy getting all the packaging. I reuse it for my stuff I sell on ebay. I got the grill. Got to check it. Fell out of the UPS truck. Nice heavy box...I am going to sell one of my Spolar shotshell loaders...I'll use it to ship it in. the only thing I don't like... I use insulin. When I get it UPS it comes in a nice shipping box...but there are always 3 or 4 of those cold packs. My wife collects them...won't get rid of them...mist be 50 in the freezers...taking up space. Go to the store and she has those insulated bags with at least 4 in them...I do keep sneaking 1 or 2 out...and tell her they were leaking...Oh well. Got to assemble the grill. Albertson's still has rib roasts on sale for 5 bucks a pound. Going to get another one...about 5 lbs and cook it for Christmas din din. What are the best pellets for cooking beef??.

Yeah, WOW on the sewing machine...spensive suckers. When we take her old machine back for trade in...they'll give her 200 bucks back..We'll have lots of thread and other stuff...and we're getting 3 pairs of scissors sharpened too...And the box is gotta be used for shipping something out

Amazon treats their warehouse employees like garbage. That alone ensures me I'll NEVER use them for anything.

If that is your primary consideration there is not a single company on the face of this earth you should be doing business with.

Every major retailer supports some cause they are unlikely to like.

Walmart gave up selling guns and handgun ammunition to appease the anti gun crowd. So did Dick's for that matter.

Target supports all sorts of liberal positions.

You can go down a list and they all do something that we are unlikely to support. Heck, people boycott Smith & Wesson (still) because of the revolver lock.

The other problem is that since COVID (maybe even before) large retailers have cut back on what they stock. Some of that may have been temporary during the shipping shortage, but it seems to have stuck around.

If I need something and Home Depot doesn't have it, they'll ship it to me. The problem is that Amazon will likely have it and can get it to me as fast or maybe faster.

This time last year Tractor Supply had a great sale on gun cabinets. I got the last one, floor sample, in the store. The problem was they couldn't find the keys. None of the nearby stores had any, so the manager told me I could buy it on line and have it shipped to the store. For $99.00 shipping fee. For a product that they just had to put on the truck for the weekly delivery. In that case Academy had a similar one, but if they didn't I could have ordered it from Amazon and had it shipped to my house for less.

Walmart is finally catching up with the on line ordering and even competing on price in some cases with stores.

Retail is very competitive and the stores that survive will do so because they could play the Amazon game.

Walmart gave up selling guns and handgun ammunition to appease the anti gun crowd. So did Dick's for that matter.

During Covid our local Walmart stores had zero guns and hardly any ammo. It was because they were all sold out.

Today, every store in our area (we have 5 wallmarts withing a 35 mile radius) is fully stocked. Just today I was picking up some last minute gifts and my local store had every single gun rack full and the ammo cabinets were overflowing.

Dicks has always ****** .

Since the majority of amazon products are from China, they are the last place I would look for something.
Due to the laziness of amazon customers many physical stores are gone, so eventually you will have high prices and garbage products due to no competition.

A few years back I needed a new cleanout door for my ash shoot on my chimney...... could have driven all over SW Pa. looking...... Amazon had like 6/7 pages of options..... got it in 2 days!!!!
