AMBI Charging handle for M&P10

I ended up sending mine back. I measured the difference between my existing charging handle and the raptor on top of the bolt, the difference was 1.496" to 1.517", making the raptor assembly .021" taller. The tolerances looked close enough that I wasn't willing to risk cutting it up.

I just put these on both my M&P Sport & M&P 10 & they both dropped right in and work excellent. I was at my gunsmith and he had an older 7.62 Raptor & it looks like they may have changed the design to better fit the M&P 10's

I machined the Raptor to work with my M&P10....yes it will work. All you have to do is file off that protruding part on the front top (the little 1mm bulge height) and file down the small edge guides from the top about 1mm. Then it will perfectly fit.

Rainer arms raptor for 308 in S&W M&P-10

Rainier arms raptor for 7.62 works perfectly and fits great, using it in mine

The Rainier arms raptor for 308 works perfectly and fits great in my Smith and Wesson M&P-10. I bought it thinking that I would have to make modifications and expected to but it dropped right in and works without any modification. I guess I got lucky.
Just buy it thinking that you may need to modify it, even if you have to it is worth it. I love mine.

I have the camo version of the M&P 10, and I didn't like the factory charging handle cause it was a little bit in my way of my scope, so I bought the Raptor Mod4 charging handle, I spent around an hour or more doing this: dremel/test it, dremel/test it, dremel/test it, dremel/test it, until it finally ran smooth.

That looks like a BCM not a Raptor.

AXTS 7.62 Raptors and S&W MP10

So after searching the net and getting many conflicting messages on whether the AXTS 7.62 Raptor will work in the S&W MP10 without modification, I decided to buy 2 of them directly from AXTS to put in my 2 MP10s (serial numbers both in the KN21xxx range - don't know manufacturing date or if that plays into whether the Raptor fits or not). After installation, the charging handle was binding about 3/4 of the way in.

I reached out to AXTS to find out if there was another 7.63 model available (as others mentioned being able to just drop in theirs) and here is the response I got from AXTS:

"No we do not make a version without the nub. We may make a modified version down the road to fit this rifle but do not at this time. I am sorry for the inconvenience we will update the product description."

Now I am trying to decide if I modify a $100 charging handle or return and look for other options. So 2 questions for the group: #1. is the integrity of the Raptor compromised by removing material (some of the pictures of modified handles looked like the walls were getting pretty thin)? #2. If I return, what other ambi charging handles are out there that fit the MP10?

Other than the Raptor, I haven't seen any others. When I looked, the handle wasn't available, so I got a BCM with the large lever instead. The ambidextrous feature would be nice but not necessary since I'm right handed and use my left to charge the weapon anyway. I just needed better clearance from my scope's eye piece.

I put one of them big square end ambi levers on mine when I got it, just for scope clearance. It works well enough, and even though I am southpaw, I do not normally need ambi, just nice to have I guess, after shooting AR for 30 something years I am pretty used to standard, but today I stumbled across a BCM mod 4 extended half off for 30 bucks!

Well, I hope it works, but if not I have little to loose it seems. I am not into this stuff for looks, but it does look cool!

Where did you happen to find the BCM handle at half off??? Oh please tell
