Ambi magazine release help

Hey all,
I just received my m&p 10 yesterday after 2 weeks of waiting, for some reason it has a bullet button installed like CA models, yet has the flash hider and 6 *** stock.

Does the m&p 10 use the same size mag release as an AR? Or is there anywhere I can get the ambi mag release for the 10?

Sounds like what you have is the official Feinstein approved "Kalifornia compliant model". It has the bullet button, a flash hider, the lightweight barrel, a 6 position stock, and a ten round magazine. The bad thing is: in order to have the bullet button work, they permanently modify the off-side mag release. Good news is: They are not that hard to change out. If you're not in Kalifornia, you may be able to buy a regular ambi mag release from S&W. (The S&W ambi release is different than any others.) I'd call their customer service line to check on buying one. However, if you have a Kalifornia mailing address, I'm bettin' they won't sell it to you. (Or, if you're not in Kalifornia and the off-side release isn't something you really want or need, just buy a regular mag release and substitute it for the Kalifornia B.S. You won't have an ambi release, but is it really necessary?)
