Hello,
My ambi-safety literally just fell out of my Pro series 1911 just now. Is there any info, posts, videos that would help me put it back together? I've searched youtube but came up empty. Hoping to find some help here. Thanks

First, make sure the gun is cleared and "safe". (empty)

This set of photographs may help you. Remember, the photos are of a regular, single sided safety configuration. Since yours also has a right lever, you will have to realign your right and left ambi safety bodies as the parts are reinserted. Basically, you should be concerned with the bottom three photos in the illustrations. You won't need a "special" tool to depress the spring loaded plunger. You can use a small pin punch, or other rigid push pin small enought to fit under the safety body and reach the plunger. Note also that the hammer must be cocked during this re-assembly process.

Pushing in the plunger and re installing a ambi-safety requires a minimum of three hands and 6 to 8 choice curse words and something to push in that stupid plunger with....a finger nail will not get it.
Good luck,
Gary

Thank you, I was able to strip it all down and put it all back together correctly. It functions perfectly again.

Safetys, ambi or not, should not just "fall out" of a 1911. I would strongly suggest that you have the weapon thoroughly checked by a gunsmith. There is a serious problem somewhere.
