Just wondering what everyone is carrying in their 357 snubs.

I have been a Gold Dot fan for many years, and carried that load in my 40s. I am considering the Gold Dot short barrel load for my 640 .

Not exactly a 'Snub' but I carry the 135 grain Gold Dot short barrel .357 load in both my 3" Model 65 and 4" Model 19 when they are used for serious purposes.

Carry the .38 Special +P 135 grain Gold Dot short barrel load in the 2" Model 60.

Great load for all of those revolvers. Effective and is used by the NYPD in up to 4" revolvers. (Very few left)

I would think that it would be a good load for a J frame .357 as it is designed to be effective from a short barrel and its loaded to 990 feet per second from a 2" barrel. When compared to either 125, 140, or 158 grain loads in the 3" 65 it has noticibly less recoil.

Underwood 125 grain JHP...it's moving mighty fast even from a 1.8" barrel! Leave the .38 spl +P for the wimps and dweebs!

I like the CCI Blazer 158gr JHP for practice in snub mags. I like it so much that I often carry it.

One above poster recommends Fed 158gr JHP. The 158s often perform better in short bbls that one would think. Check out tnoutdoors9 on YouTube for .357 reports, especially the 158gr R-P JHP.
