Ammo shipping to California?

What I the law? I've heard both illegal and not does anyone know for sure, I want to help someone out but don't want to ship illegally. Thanks!

depends on the city

I live outside Los Angeles City, but in the county of LA. In LA city, you cannot receive deliveries of ammo. But in LA county you can.

How I got this answer was to call Cabelas, ask them if they delivered to my zip code, they did, so I ordered 2 boxes of 9mm ammo, it got delivered.

My reasoning was that Cabela's is so big, they would have all the answers as to where they can and cannot ship. Seems like they do!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I live in the city limits of Sac and we can't buy ammo online. Every time I've tried the order gets rejected, no matter how big or small the company is.

I live in in the city of Clovis just outside Fresno and I've had ammo delivered all the time from several online sources with no trouble at all. It's the only way I buy my ammo. However, lately it has become very difficult to find ammo available from my regular sources.
