Sometimes I have to scratch my head in wonder when I look at the tracking history on some packages and the journey they took to get to me. I ordered a grip screw and nut from Lyman Products for a set of used Pachmayr grips for a Ruger Security Six. They sent it free of charge.

The package went from Stamford, Connecticut to Phoenix, Arizona. From Phoenix to St. Louis. From St. Louis to Sioux Falls. From Sioux Falls to another distribution hub in the state and then finally to me. I could see it possibly tho go to St Louis but why Phoenix to the far southwest corner of the country?

I once sent a letter to the Social Security office literally ten miles away. It went to West Palm Beach, to somewhere in NY, down to Opa-Locka in Miami, back to West Palm Beach, back to my town, and finally to the SS office. Took ten days. I should have delivered it myself.

When the postal workers toss the mail into the bag for the city on the address label, they must miss the correct mail bag and it goes into a bag destined for some other city.

Am I the only person who doesn't complain about the USPS? I have no reason to. Over 30,000 pkgs sent or received, exactly 1 was not received by the buyer, exactly 1 was not received by me, exactly 1 was damaged and insurance paid.
My complaints have always been with FedEX but that has improved after they put in a distribution center close by.

Here's my wayward package story:
I ordered a toilet part from a company in Florida. Because I prefer that my toilets work properly, I paid for second-day shipping from UPS. I then tracked my package as it first went from Florida to Mississippi. It then overflew my house and landed in Los Angeles. That's understandable, since the UPS airport facility that's closest to me is at the small, easy-to-miss Dallas-Fort Worth International airport. From there, it kicked around two more UPS facilities in the Los Angeles area before returning to DFW, and finally, to me. Total travel time was over a week. The address label on the package was completely correct, so I don't understand why it happened. Fortunately, the shipper was kind enough to refund my shipping fee.

No complaints, just an observation. If I were to have a complaint, it would be for a couple of Beretta 92 mags sent to me by a forum member a couple of years ago.

"Lost " package. USPS has a picture of it, knows where it is, but can't figure out how to get it to me. If you know that it's in a bin at terminal xyz, what does it take to get it moving again on on to the right destination? An act of congress? Never did receive that package! Some buy a at USPS probably owned a Beretta 92 is all I can figure.
