Ammo Thread Scores

Just thought I'd pass along thanks to the guys in the Ammo Thread. Scored these two boxes with a recent link posted by Forum member Liberty Head. Thanks.
Ditto! I scored THREE of these, one of the Federal 325rnd boxes, and a 500rnd CCI in the last week or so - all on Cabelas links provided by my new best buddy LIBERTY HEAD. I just got the notice that the first one is in. Should see notices on the rest over the next few days, and the I'll go pick them all up in one trip.

I even sent Liberty Head a PM with a personal THANK YOU message. I've just about quit looking anywhere else but his links and the Walmart App.

He and others posting to the 22 ammo thread are providing us an invaluable service. Once again, thanks for taking the time guys!

I ordered as well. Thanks so much to the devoted guys posting the links. It's my one-stop source for great priced 22. What a valuable asset to have guys who take the time to inform us.

I too have benefited from this ammo thread. I just bought my M&P 15-22 new years eve 2013. One of my concerns was ammo. I had some, bought some, but turning to this list for info on the gun, I stumbled on the ammo finds. This has benefited me to ammo not being a problem. Thanks to all for contributing, and I will try to post finds to share. BiggB

When you are posting ammo deals... or when you find a deal on the web... do you factor shipping into your PPR? Just asking. I've found that shipping at a number of sites is outrageous and jumps up a $.06 per round buy into a $.16 per round buy.

Yes, I factor shipping in. With Cabela's, the shipping is not bad, plus I can use ship to store. Some other places, that $25 brick became a $40 brick after shipping was added.

So far I haven't been able to post any links to deals - haven't found any before others here posted them. BUT...

I definitely factor shipping into the price to determine whether or not to BUY ammo from links that are posted. For the most part I just buy from Cabelas, Dicks, or Walmart - they are all local enough that I can pick up in store and not pay any shipping.

I bought one box from this thread. Haven't picked it up yet. This thread has been awesome! And many thanks to those that post links. Still trying to figure out how y'all find these links because when they appear, they don't seem to show up when you try searching for them on cabelas' site. Nonetheless, great service here. I have been fortunate to find some ammo at walmart these past few weeks.

Things have been so slow at my local Walmarts I started using the ammo thread myself this week. I have managed to score around 4K rounds this week most of which have already been delivered. Not my optimum varieties but plenty good for practice.

I managed to get in before the bell on the 2100 Federals in an ammo can from Cabela's posted by Stev02k3 last September. 5.7 cents per delivered and a nice ammo can as icing on the cake... You couldn't have gotten the smile off my face with a belt sander.

I got two of those...good day indeed!

I've been following that thread since Jul 13.

Of the 6000 rds I've put through my M&P22 since then, all but 350 were purchased from links others posted or I posted in that thread. Yesterday, I was one of those that got in on the 500 rds bricks from Cabela's.

Well I guess I set off a red flag at cabelas from ordering ammo from them for in store pickup. A customer relations rep called me and asked me to email a copy of my drivers license and foid card to them to " help alleviate any doubts other Cabela’s associates might have regarding your legal status to purchase ammo" even though I have never had a problem before. Oh well. What ever I have to do to make them happy.

Scored 1000 rounds of .22lr today on the AMMO thread from Cabelas ($.04/per round) and then I scored 500 rounds of Federal Premium Champion Target Ammo from Gander Mountain from Gunbot ($.05/per round).

Well, we'll see if my order really does go through, but I just placed an order for four boxes of the 300 round CCI Tactical at the most recent Cabela's alert on the ammo thread (thanks Rdye09). The order was accepted and there is a pending charge on my credit card. I had them shipped to my local store for pickup, and it says that they should be there by 2/21/2014. I'll be real happy if they really do arrive.

They will probably cancel or adjust the order to one - Cabelas' limits orders to 1ea. box per type, per day (not per order, as I found out lol). That pending charge will just drop off.

I'm about 50/50 on 22 orders from cabelas, that is half my orders (correct orders of 1ea) wind up still getting canceled. Funny thing is, the same item will show up in stock the next day, or even later that same day. They have a strange system. I think it's been mentioned that they have a run of say 1000 boxes, a bunch of people try to order more than one, so they sell 1000 fast, but when they review the orders they chop all the orders over 1, and put the "chopped" items back up in stock, and then the cycle repeats itself.

I can understand limiting bricks, but with limiting 50/100 round boxes to 1ea it's more hassle than it's worth to order from Cabelas imo, unless you can do store pickup, the shipping is almost as much as the ammo.

Before the first of the year I was able to score at least 1 extra order of 22 by adding another different box, or caliber to my second order.

I tried this last week with the Blazer boxes for a total of 3 orders. 1 order was completely cancelled and the third had the Blazer removed.
I used the same address and credit card, so I assume they are keeping a little better tracking of the 1 per day rule.

I personally hate the one per day rule, while it does help people get 22 ammo, I wish they would allow a man of 2 "bulk" boxes and man of 5 50rd or mini mag types to offset the shipping costs. At least until this retarded panic ends.

I look to cabela's for 22 because they consistently get some in at a somewhat decent price. There 45 and 223/5.56 prices are laughable though compared to other online sources.

I can concur on the pre-holiday orders. I had two accounts, using different email addresses, different credit cards, but shipping to the same name at the same address. I was able to score four boxes of Rem GB 525ct. (two separate orders on each account, all on the same day). Both accounts had different customer numbers on the invoices.

During the holidays you weren't even able to check the status of your orders on Cabelas.com.

They've since merged the two accounts (only realized when I logged in the other day and took a look at my Order History).

With the holidays over, I think they're just able to put the resources on flagging things now.

Glad I got my GBs while I could.

The ammo thread keeps talking about .22lr in stock at Cabelas. The cart shows all the .22lr ammo they carry, but if you/I try to order it says Out of Stock. I have been online all day since 8:00am and the only .22lr in stock has been single boxes of Winchester. Do these posters just imagine they have ordered something, or am I just not looking in the right place?
