Every time I buy ammo at the Big stores they ask for your Birthday. Im now starting to give different dates of Birth when they ask. I wonder if SHTF could someone go back and look to see how much ammo was sold to a certain DOB they have on thier computer? I may just be Paranoid but I really dont put it past them to do this.

Never got asked for my DOB...just if the ammo is for a rifle or pistol, to which I answer "Both", pay my money and leave. If you pay with a credit card you are all ready leaving your calling card...wouldn't worry about giving your birthday. I used to get asked my SSN when making deliveries to a AF Base years ago...always made up a phony number based on the month and day of the year, worked every time. Easier to do that than say it's none of your business........

First when asked for my date of birth I explain I no longer have a birthday as it was taken away because I was a bad boy when I was 6; I haven't grow up yet.

the second thing, Some stores and states you have to be say 16 the by ammo. they check DOB to buy tobacco and alcohol, spray paint.

Well No one would mistake me for even a 30 year old and I NEVER use a CC for ammo purchases.

As a rule I don't give my real birthday to anyone who doesn't really need to know it. I use a fake one because your birthday is a key piece of information for identity theft.

Anyone care to take bets on how soon this thread will disappear?:eek::eek:

OK, I guess it was a surgical strike!

Lol. I know how my posts sounds but it gets old reading posts about how a 18 year old hassled someone for their Id and then read posts about how all young people are lazy and dont want to work or do what they're told.

Well its his/her job, they have to ask

I went to Walgreen's last week to buy some adult beverage they had on sale. I got to the checkout and the checker calls a code 21 over the PA system. I said that I'd scan it for her and she laughed. It took the manager to override the computer that knew the checker was under 21 and could not legally sell beer once she had logged in. I've also seen checkers over 21 simply override the computer with their own birthdate.

Much to do over nothing. You're fooling yourself into believing you're successfully hiding something. .gov already knows everything they want to about you. Just look at records kept on Japanese Americans during WWII, pretty scary stuff and remember, this was done in the days before internet, electronics, cell phones, etc.

If they're not checking ID's, whats the purpose of giving false info? To protect yourself? How? If they don't have an ID, how do they even know who you are? If they don't know who you are, then how does your birthday mean anything? It's just a date without any associated info. You and millions of other people share the same birthday.

I've never been asked for a specific date of birth when buying ammo or firearms and I look pretty young. It's always been are you over 18/21... yes and done. Alcohol is excluded they scan IDs now.

Of course they can.
That is why I keep my driver's license wrapped in tinfoil.
Otherwise, if the SHTF, the satellite death rays can zoom in on me and blow me up.
I don't want that to happen.
I also suggest wrapping each round in tinfoil. Otherwise, the lead scanners in the black helicopters can count your ammo while they count your cash. ;)

Can't you just wrap your whole house in tin foil? That way you wouldn't have to worry about all the individual things. You're house would be a lot easier to find, and also, like a raccoon, I like shiny things!:D

DOB - No thank you.
Ph # - Don't have one.
Zip code - Don't live here.
Email - Don't do email.
If there is no legal requirement to provide information, I don't!!!

The zip code you give is compared to the billing zip code of any credit card you may use during the transaction, if there is not a match the transaction will not be approved and you'll need to pay in cash.

I lie about my birthday all the time. Last time I was asked, I told her I was born on Jan 1st 1900--left the lady with a blank look on her face.

For me, I just like lying. :D:p

too paranoid if you ask me. Birthdays are not as unique as you might think and sure they could assume it's all the same person, but it's very likely more than one person could be buying ammo with the same birthday
