Hey Twinkey welcome!
I hear that the CCI's are a good way to break the rifle in. I have not shot mine as of yet. And Federal bulk pack ammo works good to I am told. I have a DTX0***, and I am told the DTX are a newer rifle. I just picked mine up this month.

thanks, glad i found this site, ill try the cci i got first, what did you mean by Federal bulk pack ammo.what type,i been seeing alot about FTE on these and by bending the ejector 1/16,well looking at my ejector on my rifle,it seems if i did that it looks like it would hit the firing mechanism, looks like there is only 1/16 clearance for it anyways,so if i did bend it,it would hit the mechanism.

Well, federal makes the boxes of 325 of 525 and most have had good luck with them. Don't bend the ejector until you try firing your rifle to see how it performs.
This site is full of good info, just keep looking around, and you will find allot of the answers to your questions. The search feature is helpful also.

There should be no need to mess with the ejector on the rifle. My DTM-serial needed no adjustments and S&W made this fix months ago.

I'm having excellent luck with Winchester 333 bulk plated 36gr HPs. My only failures to feed lately have all been CCI MiniMag 36gr HPs. If the temperature gets above 40° here today I intend to push that luck!

since my repair i have had no real issues with any ammo. with the exception this past week, i was going on about 1k fired without a cleaning and started seeing issues with Remington Golden Bullets. interestingly enough i came home that day to find a post Chuck had made about them being a bit larger round than others. i cleaned it last night and shot it with the same ammo and had no problems at all.

chuck...when you said months ago,how many months..on my manual my rev is 121709..thinking the date...12-17-09

chuck is right dont mess with your ejector at all shoot the cci's first cause they are the hottest and should cycle your rifle completely to help work everything together.. then switch to a cheaper bulk pack like the feds or the winchesters that chuck has had luck with... if it aint broke dont try to fix it... just shoot the heck out of it... hope this helps and welcome to the forum and the disorder

Months ago as last Fall. I bought my rifle in November and the ejector was properly placed.

I broke my DTX5XXX in on 150 or so Federal American Eagle and went right to the Federal 550 bulk pack. I must have 500 or so rounds downrange with nary a hiccup. I'll get some more downrange tonight, and I'm looking forward to it!

will shooting cci mini mag high verlosity 40g,which i got be ok to start with, since i dont have any standered verlosity cci mini

shoot only hv stuff till your gun is broke in other wise your asking for problems... fed bulk is hv and so is the win 333
