Greetings!

Can a California compliant Shield Plus slide assembly be installed on a non-California compliant lower assembly without difficulty or functional problems?

From what I've seen, the Shield slides are all interchangeable. Unless I understood it incorrectly, the only difference between the compliant and non-compliant slides is the compliant slide has the blade type loaded chamber indicator where the non-compliant slide has the normal "hole" at the back of the barrel hood.

You'll still need to use the CA compliant barrel as it has the matching notch for the CLI as gunny4053 explains above.
