Earlier today I found a couple dozen or so rifle casing in one of my storage lockers. I don't shoot or reload this type of ammo and I am not sure what the casings are for.

My guess is a military .30.06 case made by Lake City (Ammo Plant) in 1969.
I loaed a lot of LC 68 when I was shooting an M1 Garand in NRA
High Power Matches. Looks familiar.
 
I would say 30-06, too. Take some additional measurements and compare to the dimensions shown in any reloading manual.
 
Agree with above.
If you are going to reload it, be sure to ream the primer pocket before trying to seat a primer (you only need to ream it once).
