I bought the PC 4" Shield OR 45 a few weeks ago, took it out and shot it, liked it so well I decided to get it a big brother. Big brother came home yesterday! I got a great deal on a M&P 2.0 .45, walking out the door with the gun, case, 3 mags, and the backstraps for $400. I took it straight to the hillside and put a few rounds down range.
I like it, the trigger is good, POA/POI are spot on, and recoil is very comfortable. I only have a couple complaints, and even those are minimal. First, the trigger reset isn't very tactile. Very soft feel and no audible click. Not a deal breaker after shooting it, as the trigger felt completely normal, breaking and resetting right where I expected it to. The other is aftermarket support. There's Apex and the usual sight providers. Holster providers are adequate, with leather holsters being more available than Kydex, which is fine as I prefer leather anyway.
Beyond that, if you search for M&P .45, you get a lot of stuff for Shields. Realistically, this gun has everything you need, nothing you don't. Thirteen round mags would be great, but 10 rounders will do.
I tore it down and cleaned everything up. It wasn't bad to begin with, although there was a lot of oil in the trigger mechanism. One of the first things I noticed was the lack of the loop on the trigger bar. With the Shields I became use to seeing those. After cleaning the reset felt a little better. While cleaning I had a bit of a brain poopoo. I found a piece of plastic and began trying to figure out what I had broken. Took a minute but finally discovered it was the frame plug for the safety notch. Problem solved.
