I bought the PC 4" Shield OR 45 a few weeks ago, took it out and shot it, liked it so well I decided to get it a big brother. Big brother came home yesterday! I got a great deal on a M&P 2.0 .45, walking out the door with the gun, case, 3 mags, and the backstraps for $400. I took it straight to the hillside and put a few rounds down range.

I like it, the trigger is good, POA/POI are spot on, and recoil is very comfortable. I only have a couple complaints, and even those are minimal. First, the trigger reset isn't very tactile. Very soft feel and no audible click. Not a deal breaker after shooting it, as the trigger felt completely normal, breaking and resetting right where I expected it to. The other is aftermarket support. There's Apex and the usual sight providers. Holster providers are adequate, with leather holsters being more available than Kydex, which is fine as I prefer leather anyway.

Beyond that, if you search for M&P .45, you get a lot of stuff for Shields. Realistically, this gun has everything you need, nothing you don't. Thirteen round mags would be great, but 10 rounders will do.

I tore it down and cleaned everything up. It wasn't bad to begin with, although there was a lot of oil in the trigger mechanism. One of the first things I noticed was the lack of the loop on the trigger bar. With the Shields I became use to seeing those. After cleaning the reset felt a little better. While cleaning I had a bit of a brain poopoo. I found a piece of plastic and began trying to figure out what I had broken. Took a minute but finally discovered it was the frame plug for the safety notch. Problem solved.

I would suggest you look up the current use of FUPA before posting it again.;)

I did just now and changed the original. Generally, I'm too old to research new meanings for old slang, but thanks.

Yeah, that's nasty.

Took the pair to the range today. Zero'd the rds on the Shield and just shot the M&P .45. I'm pleased with both, very pleased. For some reason, the forum has the pics posting on their side. The right side as viewed is the bottom of the target.

The LGS had a S&W appreciation days event yesterday. I should have stayed home! ;) Two more Smiths will be joining the M&P and PC Shield. I grabbed a Shield 9 2.0 and one just to have in the safe, a 5904. Much love to my wife, who after asking if I won the gun they gave away, to which I had to sadly say no, ask if there was anything else there I wanted or needed. Nothing I absolutely needed, but something I wanted, so she told me use some of the money in her account and go get it. :D She's a keeper.......and my wife's pretty awesome too!

I have two M&P2.0 Compact 4" - one in the .45acp and the other in 10mm. I hve discovered that these two pistols are so close, dimensionally, that the same holster that fits one generally fits the other. Unfortunately, these two pistols are a bit larger than my 4" .40cal, so it needs different leather. So far I've only bought Craft holsters, but may venture out into other brands. After all, I just bought another new box in which to toss them.
